"HANDCRAFTING MEMORIES"

Calligaffair is a celebration of art, language, and culture, driven by a deep passion for storytelling through calligraphy. As a graduate of Fine Arts from the prestigious College of Arts, Delhi, I have honed my skills in various artistic forms, with a particular focus on merging traditional and contemporary styles.

Our Story

Growing up in a Punjabi family, my connection to the Punjabi language and Gurmukhi script was nurtured from an early age. My parents instilled a love for spiritual and cultural values by regularly taking me to the Gurdwara, where I found inspiration in the sacred hymns and intricate artistry of Sikh heritage. These experiences planted the seeds for my artistic journey, guiding me toward reviving and celebrating the timeless beauty of Gurmukhi and other calligraphic traditions.

Through Calligaffair, my intent has always been to propagate the teachings of Sikh Gurus and the richness of Punjabi culture to the newer generation in a way that resonates with their modern sensibilities. By fusing traditional calligraphy with contemporary aesthetics, I aim to bridge the gap between the past and the present, making the profound wisdom of Gurbani and Sikh heritage accessible and relatable to all.

Each artwork is a thoughtful creation, designed to evoke a sense of pride in our roots while inspiring meaningful connections to our culture. Beyond aesthetics, Calligaffair serves as a medium to spark curiosity and dialogue, encouraging young minds to explore the depth of Sikh values, such as equality, humility, and selfless service. Whether it’s through bespoke calligraphy pieces, cultural campaigns, or live art events, my vision is to foster a strong, united community where the timeless lessons of Sikh Gurus guide and uplift us.

By embracing innovation while staying true to tradition, Calligaffair aspires to be a source of cultural revival, ensuring that the beauty and wisdom of Punjabi culture continue to thrive for generations to come.

2024 – Live Calligraphy Performance at NJPAC, New Jersey

One of the most memorable milestones of my journey was performing live calligraphy at the 555th Anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, organized by Oneness at the prestigious New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC). In front of an audience of over 2,500 people, I created the 35 Akhri of Gurmukhi on a specially designed wooden patti, symbolizing the timeless wisdom of Guru Nanak. Sharing the stage with renowned artists like Harden Kaur, Kanwar Grewal, Harshdeep Kaur and Vilas Nayak, this event was a profound experience that reinforced my passion for celebrating Sikh heritage on global platforms.
